Members of the Consortium, having met the technical financial parameters of Punjab Energy Development Agency, Chandigarh, had been allocated projects with an aggregate capacity of 14.25 MW in Punjab. The Members of the Consortium has already commissioned the Hydro Power Projects in Punjab and they are running successfully. s ubsequently Bhilangana Hydro Power Limited was awarded a project in the state of Uttranchal. Detailed survey and investigation has placed the capacity at 24 MW. The DPR has since been approved by the Government of Uttaranchal and the project is at an advanced stage of implementation.
Based on the technical / financial strength of the Consortium Members, the Government of Sikkim has allocated three hydro electric projects of 40 MW, 90 MW and 99 MW on Lachung River in North District, Sikkim. Detailed survey and investigation has placed the capacities at 99 MW for each of the three projects. These projects are being implemented by three different members of the Consortium.
The Members have appointed M/s SNC Lavalin International Inc. as consultants for the said projects. In consultation with SNC, detailed survey and investigation is being carried to complete the DPR. The Members have also received the Stage I clearance for conducting EIA / EMP studies. In line with the Notification issued by the Ministry of Environ & Forest (MoEF), the Terms of Reference for conducting the EIA / EMP studies have been approved by the MoEF and the SPVs have appointed M/s WAPCOS for conducting the EIA / EMP studies.
