M/s Kanchanjunga Power Company Private Limited, originally incorporated as a private limited company on 13 November 1991 in the name of M/s Padmini Traders Private Limited, and is registered with the Registrar of Companies, N. C. T. of Delhi & Haryana. The name of the company was changed to M/s Kanchanjunga Power Company Private Limited with effect from 26.03.2002.
The Company is operating a run off river hydroelectric power project on Beas tributary & Sanjoin Nalla tributary at Village-Halan, Tehsil-Manali, District-Kullu, Himachal Pradesh (Baragaon Project) with an installed capacity of 24 MW (3X8 MW each). The project envisaged to utilize discharge from Sanjoin Nalla & Bijara Nalla, which are snow fed stream, having catchment area of 39 sq km, which comprises of mountainous terrain with steep hill slopes.
